226 O-Ring Interface
Definition
A common cartridge end-cap connection using dual 226-code O-rings with a locating fin or bayonet, sealing the element into the housing tube sheet.
The 226 interface (often paired with a flat or fin end cap) is one of the most widely used sealing standards in high-flow and standard cartridge housings. Correct O-ring code and material are essential to prevent bypass.
Related codes such as 222 differ in O-ring spacing and length; the element and housing must always match. Seal material (EPDM, Viton/FKM, silicone, Buna-N) is chosen for chemical and temperature compatibility.
