Viton / FKM Seal
Definition
A fluoroelastomer O-ring or gasket material offering excellent resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and high temperatures.
Viton (FKM) withstands aggressive hydrocarbons, many solvents and temperatures well above the range of EPDM or Buna-N, making it the default seal for oil & gas and demanding chemical duties.
It is less suited to hot water/steam and certain polar solvents, where EPDM may be preferred — seal choice always follows the specific fluid.
Relevance for high-flow filtration
R+F supplies Viton/FKM end-cap seals wherever the OEM element or the process fluid requires fluoroelastomer compatibility.
