Process Water Filtration

Process water touches almost every industrial operation — rinsing, make-up, transport and product water. Suspended solids in that water damage equipment and compromise product quality. High-flow filtration delivers clean process water at high volume with a compact housing footprint.

Where in the process

Placed wherever clean particulate-free water enters or moves through the process — intake polishing, make-up water, or protection ahead of sensitive equipment.

What goes wrong without adequate filtration

  • Suspended solids that scratch product surfaces or contaminate a batch
  • Plugging of nozzles, valves and instruments that stops a line
  • Bulky banks of small cartridges that take floor space and labour
  • Pressure-drop creep that eats into available line capacity

How it works

  1. 1

    Position at the process inlet

The filter sits where clean water enters or moves through the process — intake polishing, make-up water or a guard ahead of sensitive equipment.

  2. 2

    Remove suspended solids

A high-flow element with media matched to the duty removes particulate at high throughput without a bank of small cartridges.

  3. 3

    Hold a stable pressure drop

Large media area keeps the pressure drop low and predictable so the line keeps its rated capacity between services.

  4. 4

    Deliver clean process water

Consistently clean water protects product quality and downstream equipment across the process.

Typical filtration requirements

  • Consistent suspended-solids removal at high throughput
  • Media matched to the process (including food-contact-appropriate options)
  • Low, stable pressure drop to preserve line capacity
  • Compact footprint versus banks of standard cartridges

Why high-flow wins here

1High volume through few housings — small footprint, simple operation
2Fewer change-outs and less handling for maintenance teams
3Wide media range to suit the process fluid
4Element and matching housing available from one source

Selection & sizing factors

Filtration rating
Set by what you protect — fine for product/equipment protection, mid-range for general duty. The protected target sets the rating.
Process fluid & contact
Where product contact matters, appropriate media are selected; the fluid narrows the media range.
Flow rate
The process flow sizes element and housing so a large duty is covered with few, larger housings.
Protected equipment
The smallest downstream clearance (nozzle, valve, instrument) sets the finest rating the filter must guarantee.

Sizing & selection

Process-water ratings span the fine-to-mid particulate range depending on what you are protecting. Where product contact matters, appropriate media are selected. Share the process, flow and what you are protecting and we recommend a configuration.

The right housing for this solution

A process-water housing is sized to the line flow so one or a few large housings replace a bank of small cartridges — less footprint, fewer connections and simpler operation. We select a housing material appropriate to the duty (including product-contact-appropriate options) and supply the matching elements. Use the housing configurator to specify a process-water vessel or skid.

Operational impact

Clean process water protects product quality and reduces reject batches
Fewer, larger housings cut floor space and change-out labour
Stable pressure drop preserves full line capacity between services
One source for element and housing simplifies procurement and support

Frequently asked questions

Can you supply food-contact-appropriate media?

Yes — where the process requires it, we select media appropriate for the duty. Tell us the application and requirements.

One housing or several?

High-flow elements let you cover a large flow with fewer, larger housings than a standard 2.5" cartridge bank. We size it to your flow.

Does it remove dissolved substances from process water?

No — it is a particulate / suspended-solids filter. Dissolved-substance control needs a dedicated stage (e.g. RO, ion exchange); the high-flow filter protects those stages and your equipment from particulate.

What rating should I choose?

Base it on what you are protecting — product surfaces and fine equipment need a finer rating, general duty can run coarser. Send us the process and target and we recommend a rating.

The right solution for your process?

Tell us your flow rate, medium and target rating — we recommend the element and, if required, the matching housing.
