Pleated Filter Element

Definition

A filter whose media is folded into pleats to pack a large surface area into a compact element, lowering pressure drop and extending life.

Pleating multiplies the effective filtration area within the same envelope, so a pleated high-flow element offers much lower ΔP and higher dirt-holding capacity than an equivalent depth cartridge.

Most absolute-rated high-flow elements use pleated PP or glass-fiber media with outside-to-inside flow to make full use of the pleat area.

Relevance for high-flow filtration

R+F pleated high-flow elements replicate OEM pleat geometry and area for equivalent flow and service life.
