Condensate Polishing

Definition

The fine filtration of steam condensate to remove corrosion products (mainly iron oxides) before the water returns to the boiler.

Returned condensate carries iron and copper corrosion particles that must be removed to protect boilers and turbines. Absolute-rated fine filtration captures these sub-micron to low-micron oxides at high flow.

Glass-fiber high-flow elements are well suited to condensate polishing thanks to their high efficiency and dirt-holding capacity at elevated temperature.

Relevance for high-flow filtration

R+F absolute-rated glass-fiber high-flow elements provide efficient condensate polishing in power and process steam systems.
